LeoVegas is one of the most heavily marketed UK casino brands. Owned by MGM Resorts since 2022, it features prominently in UK gambling advertising. What it does not feature prominently is the RTP it deploys on its most popular slots.

RTPTrack has confirmed through multiple independent sources that LeoVegas deploys Play'n GO and NetEnt titles at reduced second-tier configurations. Book of Dead runs at 94.25% — the second of five Play'n GO tiers, 1.96 percentage points below the 96.21% theoretical maximum. Starburst runs at 94.05% — a NetEnt reduced tier, 2.04 points below the 96.09% maximum.

    The 2022 reduction window

The reductions appear to have occurred in 2022. A moderator on the BigWinBoard forum documented that Play'n GO titles at LeoVegas briefly went offline and relaunched at the 94% tier. A CasinoGrounds forum post independently confirmed the pattern, noting that LeoVegas support staff used scare quotes around the word update when asked about the change.

    Provider-by-provider, not blanket cuts

CasinoWizard's provider-level audit of LeoVegas confirms the selective approach: NetEnt, Play'n GO, and Pragmatic Play are rated mediocre at the 94% range. Red Tiger is rated poor at 92-93%. But Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, Push Gaming, Quickspin, Relax Gaming, and Thunderkick all run at provider maximum. LeoVegas treats each provider as a separate commercial decision.

The timing — 2022, the year MGM acquired LeoVegas and the UKGC fined it £1.32 million for AML failures — is notable but has no documented causal link. Whether the reductions were driven by the acquisition, the fine, or independent commercial strategy is unknown.

    Transparency below Coral and Ladbrokes

LeoVegas publishes no RTP list. The help centre directs users to the in-game info icon. This puts LeoVegas below the transparency standard set by Coral and Ladbrokes, which publish RTPs on help pages, despite LeoVegas's significantly higher UK marketing spend.

What to play (and not play) at LeoVegas

For players at LeoVegas, the recommendation is provider-specific. Relax Gaming titles (Money Train series) reportedly run at theoretical. Push Gaming, Hacksaw, and Nolimit City run at maximum. Play'n GO and NetEnt flagships are reduced by approximately 2 percentage points. If you primarily play Book of Dead or Starburst, Paddy Power or MrQ offer better value.
