Why We Built This
The UK online slot market changed in 2024-2026. The Remote Gaming Duty rose to 40%. Operators responded by reducing deployed RTP tiers. The game a player sees on screen looks identical regardless of whether it returns 96% or 87%. No visual cue, no notification, no mandatory disclosure format. The player has no way to know what they are getting without independent verification.
RTPTrack exists to close that gap. We track what casinos actually deploy, compare it across operators, and publish the data so players can make informed choices. We are not the solution to problem gambling — that requires regulation, operator responsibility, and individual awareness. We are a tool for players who want to understand the maths behind their entertainment.
What RTPTrack Does
RTPTrack tracks the actual deployed RTP of slots at UK-licensed online casinos. The theoretical RTP published by slot providers is not always what UK casinos deploy — operators can select from multiple certified RTP configurations, and many have reduced their selections following the April 2026 Remote Gaming Duty increase from 21% to 40%.
We verify which RTP configuration each casino actually deploys, organise this data into searchable comparison tools, and publish honest editorial analysis to help UK players make informed decisions about where and what to play.
Why This Matters in 2026
The UK 2026 gambling environment has made RTP verification more important than at any point in UK online casino history. The 40% tax rate has created commercial pressure for operators to reduce slot RTPs. The reductions happen silently — no operator announces when they switch from a 96.21% configuration to a 94.25% or 91.25% configuration on the same slot. Players who do not actively verify are unknowingly playing reduced-value versions of their favourite slots.
RTPTrack exists to make this invisible information visible.
Our Methodology
Our RTP data comes from three sources. The primary source is direct verification through in-game information screens at UKGC-licensed casinos. UKGC regulations require every slot to display its deployed RTP in the game's rules panel. We systematically check these screens across our tracked casino portfolio and record the deployed configurations.
The secondary source is provider documentation. Slot providers publish the available RTP configurations for each title. We maintain a complete database of available tiers per provider, identifying which providers use fixed single-configuration deployment (Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, Push Gaming, Big Time Gaming, Relax Gaming, ELK Studios, Thunderkick) and which use variable multi-tier deployment (Play'n GO, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger, Blueprint Gaming, Playtech, Inspired Gaming).
The tertiary source is public research from peer tracking services and community reports. We cross-reference our direct verification against data from FindMyRTP, SlotCatalog, and community-sourced observations to identify discrepancies and validate our findings.
All data carries verification dates. We distinguish between directly verified data and web-sourced data in our displays. Monthly refresh cycles ensure the data reflects current deployment rather than historical configurations.
Editorial Independence
RTPTrack reviews are editorially independent. We call out weaknesses alongside strengths — slow withdrawals, smaller catalogues, inconsistent tier deployment, and below-average RTP positioning are documented honestly rather than glossed over. Our casino reviews use verified RTP deployment data as the primary assessment criterion rather than subjective design preferences or promotional relationships.
We maintain affiliate relationships with some casino operators. These relationships do not influence editorial ratings, RTP deployment data, or review content. Affiliate operators receive the same honest assessment as non-affiliate operators. Where affiliate operators deploy at reduced RTP tiers, we document this the same as any other operator.
